Analog Photoshoping - Using Text, magazine cutous and painted images

I used some images of a collage I made and stuck up on a window to create the long images below.
I drew the text to start experimenting with a bit of typography.
I like the disjointed nature of the images and how at the sametime it is also linked

I experimented with different combinations of Terrarium and Evolution.
Terravolution
Terrarevolution
Teravolution
Terrrrrrr
Tvolution

Jenny Brown - In Photoshop

Here is my example thanks to the inspiration of JENNY BROWN and some wonderful students work!

I use Photoshop and some cutting and pasting tecniques.

The water colour background I used a low opacity and low flow eraser over a blue blob painted by a 100% paint brush. Kinda gives a water colour effect.

Leigh Wells in Photoshop with parts of a Terrarium

Here is my take on Leigh Wells in Photoshop.
Notice the cool colour - ie Blue that makes the background recede.

I have also put images into the shapes of cacti.

I use the magic wand to select images

Typography with our evolutionary terrarium inspired by space......

http://vimeo.com/69375692

Possible video on typgraphy.

How could we involve it letters and type?

This website has definitions on type. Could get ideas from the names and use them in correlation with theme of evolution

Simplifying the complex. Rethink.

Cool video on this

THANKS JENNY BROWN!!!

Jenny will be part of the evolution of our terrarium plants!

Interview with Jenny - http://www.theartfuldesperado.com/artful-fridays-jenny-brown/

When you add a living thing into a new space it needs to evolve OR die.....
Evolve your terrarium like Jenny's collages.

What happens when you introduce an organic life form into a new space?????

New alien space = evolution

Does it live? Die? Evolve?

Evolution?

Bio volution?

How do we articulate change and evolution?

Tentacle, Alien, Blending, Cross polination? - Could use the next artist .....?

Collage is a blending, evolutionary artform....using pre-exisiting material and helping it evolve...

regeneration????

Almost Island like collage ! Very cool
Maybe you could cut out the parts of your terrarium and arrange them like an island or in a ambiguous shape or spacial configuration?

Check out http://www.aalandisland.com/secretgarden/ - The secret garden

We could start with this? Easy but challenging......

Click and zoom in! Very cool images of houses.
If you are ok to good with colours this could be for you!

Maybe before the Terrarium floats away?

Frances Berry - Digital Photographer

If you look in her portfolio called foundations - http://www.whereisfrances.com/foundations/
There is some cool stuff  - love the white background in contrast with the interesting achitecture.
Definately can be connected to the terrarium and the laying of dirt.
OR even parts of space floating in space? Or parts of terrarium being relocated in space?

Leigh Wells - Collage and 3d

Amy Wilson Faville.....This could be our first one!

http://amy-wilson-faville.com/

Quote from Jealous Curator blog -

You should see these in person. Stunning!!! They’re the large-scale mixed media work of San Francisco based artist Amy Wilson Faville. I wrote about these two years ago, but seeing them in person – I almost cried a tiny bit. Ok… AND we’re back to portraits: - http://www.thejealouscurator.com/blog/?s=strange&submit=search

OOhhh! AND - This one...We could totally look at Space and collection and hoarder -
hoarder
ˈhɔːdə(r)/
noun
noun: hoarder; plural noun: hoarders
  1. a person who hoards things.

Almost like an island now on wheels.
Terrarium to now having it on wheels....to even floating...?
